Bill Crane, who is the newest member of The Working Poets, joined the band in June of 2013! Born and raised in Long Beach, California. Bill grew up in a musical family. His first instruments were cello, guitar, bass and later the electric organ. He studied music through grade school and on to Long Beach City Collage. By that time he was playing keyboards in several dance bands, some of which were heading out on the road, thus beginning his professional music career and ending his formal education.
Bill is also a lead vocalist and has played and sung most styles of music. He played with several popular groups including "The Platters" "The Drifters" "The Coasters" "Heather Miles" and "The Midnight Soul Patrol", to name a few. While Bill was performing with "The Grass Roots" in late 80's, the band was videotaped playing their hit "Midnight Confessions" on the TV variety show "Solid Gold".
For the past 20 years Bill has been traveling and performing in Nevada showrooms with the oldies review, "Shake Rattle n' Roll". During this time Bill settled in Victorville, California where he met his wife and later "The Working Poets".
